Stephanie Howe Violett was born in Minnesota and now lives in Bend, Oregon with her husband Zach and her dog, Riley. In college, she raced cross country and competed in Nordic skiing, twice earning All American status. After college she discovered ultrarunning, and in 2014 she won the iconic Western States Endurance Run. Other victories include the Speedgoat 50k in Utah, the highly competitive Lake Sonoma 50 miler, and the 2017 Bandera USATF 100k National Trail Championship. An achiever on and off the trails, in 2015 Stephanie earned her PhD in Exercise Science & Nutrition from Oregon State University. When Stephanie is not out running or exploring the world with her husband and dog, she can be found snacking on real food... and lots of it!
